I have a KeypadLinc Dimmer[2486DWH8]that I linked with a RemoteLinc [2440] along with the houselinc software. I cannot unlink the KeypadLinc from the Remotelinc. I have tried via the houselink and the unlinking procedure in the videos to no avail. I even reset the KeypadLinc by following the reset steps. Anybody have any ideas?

Here is what I figured out. In the houselink program, there is a little box that locks the switch and prevents it from being changed. Unclicked the box and everything worked perfect. System working fantastic now.

If you can't find the answer here in the user-to-user forums, be sure to check in with Smarthome's tech support--the Insteon Gold Line is listed on every quick start guide.

I have done that procedure multiple times to no avail. Not sure what else to do. It works with all other switches but this one. It just won't clear.

Unlinking an INSTEON Responder from RemoteLinc
If you are no longer going to use an INSTEON Responder that has previously been Linked to RemoteLinc, it is
very important that you Unlink it. Otherwise, RemoteLinc will retry any commands repetitively, thus slowing
down the system.
The following will work on the most common INSTEON devices:
1) If the Responder is a multi-scene device, tap the Scene button you wish to remove control from until its
LED illuminates
2) Set RemoteLinc to Linking Mode by pressing & holding the On button of the pair you wish to Unlink until it
beeps (10 seconds)
The RemoteLinc Status LED should begin blinking
3) Set RemoteLinc to Unlinking Mode by pressing & holding the same On button until it beeps (10 seconds)
The RemoteLinc Status LED should continue blinking
You will have 4 minutes to complete the next step before Unlinking Mode automatically times out.
4) Press & hold the Responder’s Set button for 3 seconds
RemoteLinc should beep and its Status LED should stop blinking and turn off
5) Confirm that Unlinking was successful by tapping the On/Off buttons you just Unlinked from on the
RemoteLinc
The Responder should no longer respond

The order and exact buttons you press both matter, so pay close attention to the details.

If you make any changes using HouseLinc, they won't take effect until HL next has a chance to talk to any battery-operated devices like the RemoteLinc to synchronize.
