I have a few insteon switches I am trying to set up scenes with houselinc.

I can set up the scene which controls several dimmers. But for some strange reason the keypad light won't go on with the scene? The light will go on and off with the on/off buttons. So in Houslinc I select the scene A (for example) button as the controller and the on/off button as a responder. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Lastly, as I just got houslinc - the usb driver keeps giving me an error with Windows 7 64 bit. But it seems to work?
Error is usb device not recognized. Anyone had this problem? I have tried unistalling and reinstalling a few times.

Thanks for any help.

Optional: Preset the KeypadLinc On button to the desired brightness level and/or ramp rate.

Within four minutes hold button A until it starts blinking (about 10 sec.), then hold the ON button (on the same KeypadLinc) until the blinking stops (about 10 sec.)

Sorry if this is not clear.

Have a keypadlinc with two additional dimmers.
Each of the three switches is wired to a row of lights.

Trying to set up a movie scene - Scene A (button)

Bank1 - keypadlinc dimmer - 2486DWH6
Bank2 - switchlinc dimmer - 2476D
Bank3 - switchlinc dimmer - 2476D

Using houseline to program Scene A on the keypadlinc.

Want
Bank1 - at 50%
Bank2 - at 25%
Bank3 - at 25%

On keypadlinc
Have Scene "A" button - set to controller and responder
Have on/off set to responder.

On switchlink dimmers - have both set to responders.

The two switchlink dimmers are working fine.

The keypadlinc - scene button is working.
But the keypadlinc - lights themselves are not coming on with the scene button.
(have the on/off set to responder)

If I use the keypadlinc on/off button by itself (not the scene button) the
lights wired to the keypadlinc work fine. It is just the scene A button
doesn't turn its "own" lights on.

Thanks for your continued patience.

From your description it seems that you have a scene with a KeypadLinc secondary button as a controller and a SwitchLinc Relay (On/Off) as a responder and the scene button does not turn on the light wired to the SwitchLinc.

If not please clarify or at least specify the devices involved by name and/or part number.

I have check marks for controller and responder for the Scene button and responder for the on/off button.
Plus have checks for other lights in the scene under responder.

I found if I put controller on the controlled light on/off section - it then acts like a scene
controller which is what I don't want. Want to be able to just turn the controlled light
on/off by itself and use the scene to control multiple lights.

The scene button lights on/off as it is pushed (working) - it is the controlled light (the one the keypad link)
is wired too that is not turning on/off witht the scene.

Maybe because you didn't do or, possibly, read everything Tfitzpatri8 suggested.

Hi and thanks.

I have the new dual band USB linking device.

I checked, I have check mark for the respnder for both the scene button, "A" for example and a check mark for the on/off button.

So I don't get why it is not working. Is it possible the keypad link doesn't support scenes for itself. An older version?

In the Scene tool, you want to put checks in both the Controller and Responder columns so the button will light up if another controller turns the scene on or off.

Are you using a dual band 2413Uh or the USB RF stick?
