Posted - 05/05/2012 : 2:34:36 PM I simply want to use my new computer (running Windows 7 64 bit) to control my 1132CU Powerlinc controller. I don't want to spend more money - I spent over $600 on Smarthome products a few years back, and simply want to be able to control them from a new Windows operating system; most good hardware companies keep FREE software up to date and easy to install for their customers. It sounds like I'm out of luck without running Windows 7 32 bit which I don't want to do because I have many other programs that leverage the 64 bit OS. Is there no solution? Do I need to keep taking up space with a big old tower computer running for ONE task? I'm not a major computer jock so was hoping there was a simple procedure and I just hadn't found it. |

Posted - 05/05/2012 : 1:39:16 PM Which particular software do you want to migrate to a new system? |

Posted - 05/05/2012 : 1:28:20 PM Until you modify the installer package. It isn't going to install. Since my XPSP3 computer is on its last legs. I imagine; I too will be doing the Installer Package mods myself. |

Posted - 05/05/2012 : 11:38:26 AM Skip to page 4 of that thread for the easy answer: set windows to use 'compatibility mode' to run Smarthome Manager Essential or Smarthome Manager Plus software on a 32 bit computer using Windows 7. |

Posted - 05/05/2012 : 10:44:19 AM The older Smarthome Essentials and Plus version. For the 1132CU interface will not work with Windows 7 or Vista. From what I have read here Someone has done a patch for it and I maybe trying it myself shortly. http://www.smarthome.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=948 |

Posted - 05/05/2012 : 10:08:11 AM HouseLinc works on Windows 7. Instructions for moving it from one computer to another are in the owner's manual starting on page 25.
The SmartLinc runs on its own hardware and only needs an Internet browser to access, so that will work with any version of Windows.
The ISY works with Windows 7 and saves its files internally, so you don't need to move any files. |

Posted - 05/05/2012 : 09:44:31 AM I am about to retire my old computer (with Windows XP operating system) and want to move my Smarthome controller over to my new computer which runs Windows 7. I've so far been unsuccessful finding/understanding which software I can load to use for my Smartphone system. Can anyone help me figure this out? |
