Had my system removed from old house, now installing back into my new house.
Im up and running, after being down about a year.

Is there a firmware update for the smartlinc?

Mine says its Firmware Version 3.0 Build Jul 15 2009
And below that it says Version iPhone 2.0

Is there an update to this, where is it, and how do i do it?

Thanks all! Glad to be back up and running!

Log into the SmartLinc from your computer, click on the ? on the top, right, select your revision of SmartLinc, then hit control-f and search for bin to find the links. The r1 and r2 versions are not cross-compatible, so be sure to select the hardware revision you have.

Where are the bin files? Please provide an url!

In that case, you are likely having something else on your power lines interfering or signals are not getting from one half of your split-single phase utility feed to the other. Do you have two dual-band devices installed, and did you verify with the 4-tap test that they are talking to each other and located on opposite sides of your utility feed?

The SmartLinc should not be attached to a noise or surge arrester or UPS with one built in, since depending on the design they may also attempt to absorb nearby Insteon signals. If you suspect something nearby of interfering, use the extension cord test--get a long cord out of the garage, plug the SmartLinc into one side, the plug the extension into another outlet on a different circuit to retest.

I also installed the new bin file. I am still having linking issues with some of my devices. The upgrade appears to have no effect, for me anyway.

May not apply to the Smartlinc.
With my ISY controller any I2CS modules added before the I2CS fixed firmware. Has to be deleted and then added back with the new firmware.

Actually there is supposed to be a new firmware version promised a week ago, to fix an incompatibility with newly shipped dimmers. If you buy new dimmers (like I just did), smartlinc simply won't connect to them. It's almost impossible to contact smarthome support so I have no idea when they will fix this.
