Posted - 02/29/2012 : 07:04:19 AM Will this switch control a 300 watt halogen floodlight? For more than 15 years we had such a light that was controlled by an x10 wall switch. When the light failed and was replaced we also replaced the x10 switch that was working just fine. The new switch turns the light off and on as does the x10 controller, however the light is very dim and we have tried two different lights. The INSTEON non dimming wall switch is stated for halogen lighting and we hope that the X10WS4671 is too. |

Posted - 03/21/2012 : 06:54:43 AM I have a similar situation. I have 2 outside floodlight fixtures, each have 2-75 watt halogen bulbs. I use the Smartlinc Insteon Central Controller, and am using an X10 WS13A wall switch. The problem is that it only works intermittantly. If I disconnect the load wire, it works fine, turning on and off the switch(but of course not at the light), so I know the switch is good. But if I connect the load wire it will only work for a few times for maybe 5-10 minutes then it won't respond anymore. Any suggestions? |

Posted - 03/01/2012 : 09:47:23 AM The SD533 Sundowner's manual buttons 1-4 and 5-8 can be used to send the X10 signal to the X10WS467I when it is in the programming mode. Just use the one matching the address you want in it.

Posted - 03/01/2012 : 06:40:39 AM The X10WS467I is a relay type switch that does not dim. It is rated at 15 Amps Resistive and 480 Watt Incandescent loads. Your load should be fine. http://www.smarthome.com/manuals/X10WS467.pdf
The X10WS467DI is the dimmer version and rated at 300 watts. http://www.smarthome.com/manuals/X10WS467D.pdf
Are the lights 120 volt ones and do you have a neutral power connection for the X10WS467I in the switch box?
Thanks for the reply. There is a neutral wire in the box. The light is controlled by an X10 Sundowner SD533 controller. Will I be able to program the switch with that? |
