Posted - 03/03/2011 : 11:44:04 AM I just bought a PHC06 Touch Tone Controller. I am able to control X10 modules from anywhere using a land line phone but it will not respond to a cell. The advertisement says you can control it on your cell phone. I can not. I called X10. They said I need a landline phone to controll it. Is this true? Does X10 make a touchtone controller that will work with cell phone? Thanks, dave.

Posted - 03/03/2011 : 11:58:10 AM Compatibility depends on which model cell phone you have. Older mobile phones I've used offered a setting to switch between sending touch tone sounds as fixed-length, short bursts (which often wouldn't work for remote answering machine or home control access), or to keep sending the tone as long as you kept the button pressed. Check with your cell phone provider to see if this feature is adjustable on your model phone.
