Hi all. Need a little advice here.
I have 2 switches that control my front door light. I installed 2 Insteon dimmers (ICON) and cross-linked them so that they both continue to control the light (on/off/dim) in virtual multi-way setup as recommended. Both status lights are updated correctly when either switch is used. So far so good for my first attempt!
My problem is when I link the primary switch to my USB controller so that I can set Sunrise/Sunset via "SME Timer", the status light on the secondary switch does not get updated when a command is sent, and is therefore out of sync. Any ideas on how to resolve?
Thanks in advance

Good point!

Skiddy,

This is by design. It adds an extra step in software but that is easy to set up and will be easier as more advanced software becomes available.

The alternate would be what if you did NOT want other switches to turn off when that switch did - cross linking in that case would be a disaster.

Thanks for the reply Mike, a great source of knowledge indeed.

I actually did think about doing what you suggested but thought that was overkill for what I wanted, as in sending 2 "on" commands to what is essentially the same fixture.

I was hoping that when I sent a command to the Primary switch that it would send the updated status to the secondary one, given that it was cross-linked...

Cheers, Skiddy!

Skiddy,

What you would need to do is link BOTH Icon devices to the USB controller and set up timers for both of them to turn on and off. It will take a few extra steps but it is fairly easy to accomplish.
