I bought this item last week:

and for the most part it works.
However, the description and manual both state that if you have an answering machine you can call, let it ring once, then hang up. Wait 10 seconds, and call again within 30 seconds and the telephone controller will pickup after 1 ring. I have tried about 25 times now, waiting various times to pickup, and hang up, and I have never got it to work as the manual states. Currently, the only way it will work is if I disable my answering machine, and allow it to ring the designated number of rings. This is basically a show-stopper for me.
Does anyone have any experience with these units, or advice to get it to work.

Duhhhh!!! I must have read the manual about 10 times, and I must have skipped over the paragraph that refers to the switch on the back about 10 times. It's working now.

There are two requirements, 1)the telephone controller must be in answering machine mode and 2) the answering machine must wait at least 4 rings before answering. |
