And since unshielded twisted pair cable is also more pliable than coaxial cable, it's easier to install in walls, attics and crawlspaces. If you have a home network, you may even have existing runs of Cat. 5 already installed, making these VGA Baluns a true win/win solution.
These Female VGA Balun are ideal for hundreds of applications. These include homes, classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, retail kiosks, video information displays, on-line advertising, tradeshows, hotel and convention centers, mobile presentations or anywhere else there may be collaborative viewing. Note: each installation requires a Female and a Male VGA Balun. Save money by buying as a pair.
And if you're worried about diminished picture quality, don't be. You won't lose one bit of detail during the conversion. In fact, the resolution over unshielded twisted pair cable is often superior to some coaxial cable runs with splices. Depending on the type of video card you're using, the baluns support up to 1280 x 1024 pixels over cable lengths up to 450 feet.
If the PC/Laptop or monitor projector does not have a built-in 3 prong AC power supply, then shielded twisted pair (STP Cat-5) must be used between VGA Baluns. The STP must be terminated with shielded RJ45 connectors.
