With the Express Canadian Checkout, you can shop in Canadian dollars and receive a guaranteed price of what you can expect to pay in shipping, duties and taxes. No brokerage fees, no CODs and no surprises at the door.|
To qualify for our online Express Canadian Checkout, your order must meet all of the following requirements:
- Your billing and shipping addresses must be in Canada.
- Your order amount must not exceed $20,000 CAD. If your order exceeds $20,000 CAD you can split your merchandise into multiple orders and continue with the checkout process.
- You must not have restricted items in your shopping basket. Certain items can't go through Express Canadian Checkout such as items marked 'Drop Ship,' excessively heavy items and products that include aerosol sprays or compressed gases. If you add a restricted item into your shopping cart, the item will be highlighted in red. You can either (1) Remove the restricted items to continue with the order using our Express Canadian Checkout and place an additional order for the restricted items (which will be shipped using the standard Smarthome checkout and shipping process) or (2) continue checkout with the items included, and use our standard Smarthome checkout and shipping.
- Air-restricted items are highlighted in blue in your shopping basket. If you have an air-restricted item on your order, the order must ship ground. If you are unable to receive ground in your area, you will not be able to place this order via Express Canadian Checkout and will need to use our standard Smarthome checkout and shipping.
If your order doesn't meet one or more of the requirements above, you can still place your order using the standard Smarthome checkout process.
If you use the Express Canadian Checkout, Smarthome ships your order to our shipping partner Canada Post Borderfree. Borderfree takes your package across the US/Canada border and through Customs, then delivers it to you via Canada Post. If you select "Standard" shipping, Smarthome ships your package to Borderfree via FedEx Ground (approx. 4 business days); the Canada Post delivery takes approx. 2-8 business days. If you select "Express" shipping, Smarthome ships your package to Borderfree via FedEx Next Day Air (1 business day); the Canada Post delivery takes approx. 2-3 business days. All duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are prepaid so you owe nothing more when the package is delivered. Please note that your credit card will be charged (in CAD) by Borderfree when your package clears the Canadian border. Your credit card statement will indicate 'WEB/PH ORDER BRDFREE' as the billing company.
