Control Multiple Lights From a Single Keypad

Ordinary light switches usually only control one light. But replace the switch with an easy-to-use KeypadLinc Dimmer and you'll not only have control of the lights in the room, you'll also have control of other lights in your home, like the porch light, patio lights, garage light and more. Setting it up is easy with a KeypadLinc with Integrated Dimmer and a few receiving dimmers, switches and/or lamp modules.

KeypadLinc 6 Keypad & Dimmer

The most common location that customers want to control multiple lights from is the bedroom. Start by replacing the bedroom switch with a KeypadLinc 6 with Integrated Dimmer (#12073W, #12073WB or #12073WW). This keypad will continue to control the bedroom light that the switch location is pre-wired to operate via its large top and bottom buttons pre-labeled ON and OFF.

The fun really starts when you set up the KeypadLinc's four center buttons to control lights and scenes in other parts of the home. Each button can send ON/OFF signals to any X10-compatible receiver. So now all you have to do is install a SwitchLinc 2-Way Dimmer (if the garage has incandescent lights) or a SwitchLinc Relay (if the garage has fluorescent or low-voltage lights), and program the keypad button to the same address as the SwitchLinc Dimmer or Switch.

Now, by pressing that button on the KeypadLinc, you can turn off the garage light that you accidentally left on, without having to put on your slippers and physically walk to the garage. And since you used 2-Way SwitchLincs, you'll always be able to see if the garage light is on or off directly on the keypad.

Also Works With Plug-In Lamps

Simply want to control plug-in lamps, like the one in the living room that illuminates your path to the bedroom? It's just as easy with LampLinc 2-Way Plug-In Dimmers. Simply program the KeypadLinc button to the same address as the plug-in dimmer, and you'll be able to control it with the KeypadLinc. Again, by using the 2-Way LampLinc, you'll be able to see if the light is on or off from the remote location.

Activate Lighting Scenes

But why stop there? You can use the other buttons to create "scenes" — groups of lights that can be activated to custom brightness levels for any situation. For example, you can create a "Snack" scene.

Using the scenes feature in SwitchLinc 2-Way Dimmers, SwitchLinc 2-Way Switches or LampLinc 2-Way Plug-In Dimmers, you can light a dimly lit path to the kitchen with the press of one button. When the button is pressed once, the lights will turn on to the brightness levels for which they're pre-programmed. Press it again after getting your fix and everything will turn off just as easily.
