  • The ELK-9200 is a Heavy Duty Relay/Contactor inside a lockable metal enclosure. It is designed for remotely controlling high current devices such as electric water heaters, pumps, motors, gates, etc. The energizing coil of the 9200 is 110 VAC, however its relay contacts are capable of switching 220 VAC at up to 60 Amps of current. The relay coil is prewired with a three prong plug-in cord that is compatible with virtually any appliance style automation module (purchased separately) including: INSTEON, UPB, ZWave, Zigbee, X10, etc. A simple remote command can be sent to activate the lower current automation module, which in turn then activates the higher current contacts of the 9200 relay. This permits the safe and easy On/Off switching of up to 60 Amps of electrical current.

Please note: It is recommended to mount this enclosure in a dry indoor location. Additionally, approved electrical wire clamps (not included) should be used when running wire from the load device and the electrical panel into the wiring panel.

Wow, that's a lot of money when you can buy a relay to do the exact same thing in the sprinkler parts section of your hardware store.
I have one such relay connected to the well pump for my sprinkler system because I don't trust the plumbing to not fail - sprinkler relay valves, pressure tank, pipes, etc - a leak between the pump and sprinkler valves would cause the pump to run it it weren't denied power with a relay or manual switch.
I use three insteon I/O Lincs and my old sprinkler zone controller power adapter to send the power to the pump relay as well as two sprinkler relay valves for two sprinkler zones. For a system with more zones, one of the multi-zone insteon low voltage controllers would be a better choice in terms of $ and appearance.

This is a great heavy duty relay! So far it has only been in use for two months, but it has been working perfectly. I use it to control my pool pump in combination with an INSTEON ApplianceLinc. I tried several of the Dual Band INSTEON relays, but they all failed within a few months on me. I'm hoping by keeping the control logic off the same circuit this will be more reliable.

Haven't installed yet. Looks durable and simple to install. Plan to control via INSTEON appliance ON/OFF module and SmartLinc.

Only in use for a few weeks. Impossible to rate longevity, but the quality appears to be good as is the fit and finish.

Bought this to allow water heater to operate only at low cost times of day. Works like a charm.

The unit I got had a much heavier duty relay than the one that was pictured. The case's punch outs for the electric wiring were quite hard to get out (bent the frame a bit). Overall, a very good quality unit and works well.

This is a great product that I'm using on my water heater. I was scared about the implications of using a 220v home automation switch, since they tend to fail over time. I feel like this will stand the test of time, and worst case I'll just have to replace an appliance module if it has a problem.
