Customer Solutions Representative

Do you pride yourself on winning lifelong customers for the company you represent? We're currently looking for a "STAR" customer support professional to quickly become a leader on our support team. You will listen to customers rave about their home automation products and ask how they can "one-up" their neighbor.

Smarthome is the World's largest home automation retailer - we sell over 5,000 products to automate all aspects of your home. In business since 1992, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer care. You will be expected to take a high level of calls, online chats & emails from customers, helping them with everything from RMA's to orders to product technical questions. We are looking for a high energy person who enjoys helping people and loves gadgets & electronic products. Smarthome is a strong online company w/a prominent catalog presence & an on-site retail store in Irvine, California.

Job Description:
  • Listen to callers describe problems w/their home automation systems and walk them through the steps to resolve the problem
  • Respond to e-mail inquiries in a timely manner
  • You'll need lots for free time to demo up to $1500 of products in your home. We want you to have first-hand knowledge of our products


  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of Technical Support experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of Customer Support experience
  • Knowledge home automation and X-10 technology a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of house electrical wiring, A/V distribution, and surveillance is a plus
  • Typing 50+ WPM
  • Must be a team player and enjoy problem solving
  • Must be "technically" oriented
