I got the cameras and DVR to work out of the box, no problem. However, when it came to accessing the onboard web server either on my network or remotely, I've had a series of problems. The DNS configuration is difficult but no more so than any other camera designed to be accessed from the internet. I went through that process and then tried to test it. I was able to access the DVR remotely but soon discovered two problems. First, the device requires ActiveX in a web browser. So, if you were thinking you could access this from a browser on a Mac running any version of OS X, forget about it. When I tried it from a PC I realized I still couldn't log into the device, after going through all the troubleshooting in the documentation and more. I figured maybe a software update would work but then I learned that there is absolutely no online support for this product. Save yourself the frustration and avoid buying this if you want to access it remotely.

Very happy with this system. Cameras and DVR plays and records audio which is essential for me.
