  • What's Included
  • See how much energy you are using in your home with this compact, easy-to-install Z-Wave Home Energy Monitor. This Energy Monitor's current transformer clamps fasten around the AC mains in your circuit box for installation and have been weatherized with an IP43 rating to resistant to rain and snow. The monitor will immediately begin reporting energy usage information to your Z-Wave gateway so you can view the data on your computer. All communications are done wirelessly over radio frequency (RF) and have a transmission range of up to 280 feet. Energy usage is reported in wattage or kilowatt hours. The monitor requires the use of four AA batteries which should last up to one year with normal usage. An electrician is not required for installation though highly recommended to ensure aboslute safety.

Unless otherwise stated, the circuit box's main breaker should be turned off to perform these installation steps:
    1. Turn the main breaker off.
    2. Open the main circuit box panel.
    3. Clip one clamp of the meter around the incoming electricity cable that connects to the main circuit breaker.
    4. Connect the clamp to the meter using a Clamp Connector.
    5. Connect the AC Wire to the meter using the AC Wire Connector.
    6. Wire the AC Wire into one breaker. The brown wire is Live, the blue wire is neutral.
    7. Replace the main circuit box panel.
    8. Turn the main breaker back on.

It is now time for placement of the Home Energy Meter's main body. A radio antenna is inside the meter and is used for communications. This must be taken into consideration when selecting a location for setting up the meter because if the circuit box is made of metal the radio signal strength may be reduced. Should this be the case then it is recommended that the main body of the meter be installed outside the circuit box as this will greatly improve the radio signal strength of the energy meter. The Home Energy Meter has been weatherized to the international IP43 standard so that it is resistant to rain and snow when placed vertically with the wires protruding from the bottom of the unit.

    Placing the Home Energy Meter:
    1. Unslot the backing plate from the back of your meter.
    2. Affix the plate to the selected wall space using the provided screws.
    3. Attach your meter to the backing plate.

    very disappointed.
Instructions are not current, internet is filled with tremendous number of fixes, my Vera-lite controller does not recognize. Install time measured in days

Who can tell me how to find the real time energy data from my computer? Should I need to install some special software for this purpose?

Works quite well, I've had it installed for nearly a month now. The data seems reliable. It's a little scary to self install. I would recommend you get an electrician or someone who knows what they are doing.

Basically works as advertised. Easy to install. Communicates perfectly with my network, seems mostly accurate compared to my power company smart meter. Mfg support on website is non-existant. There are three real-time data fields for power, and oddly the total is sent per configuration but the individual clamps are never sent unless it is polled. Otherwise, great device for the money.
