Essential Info

This X10 Toggle Wall Switch can replace any standard wall switch in your home to add remote control of lights, fans, and other appliances to your existing X10 home automation system. The switch responds to on/off commands but can also transmit its own X10 address when operated locally. This is great for status or for simply controlling other devices that are sharing the same address elsewhere in the home.

A white LED indicates the current on/off status of the connected light or appliance and even doubles as a locator light when the light is off, making it easy to find the switch in the dark.

This X10 Toggle Wall Switch, also available in ivory, is designed to control a 480 Watt incandescent load or 15A resistive load. Wallplates are sold separately. For dimmable light control, try X10 Toggle Dimmer Switch.

    Slim Design
Similar dimmers are up to 50 percent deeper than X10 Toggle Wall Switch. With its slim design, installation is easy, even in small junction boxes.

Easy to Install and Set Up
This switch wires in like a standard wall switch with an additional connection to a neutral wire. To set the X10 address, press & hold the Set button until it beeps and then send the X10 address from any X10-compatible transmitter.

    Built with a Quieter Relay
Because X10 Toggle Wall Switch is built with a much quieter relay than most remote-control switches, it has a click that is 80 percent quieter than traditional relay switches. This allows you to control lights and other non-dimmable devices without waking up the baby, annoying other family members, or sending your cat fleeing across the room. The click of the internal relay is barely audible.

    Generates Less Heat
Unlike other switches, X10 Wall Switch uses a relay to control the load. Other switches use components that absorb about two volts of power and dissipate the heat through the front of the switch. By using a relay, the switch runs cooler and full voltage gets to the load.

    Create Multi-Way Circuits
The X10 Toggle Wall Switch allows you to customize your setup no matter how your house is wired. Create a brand new circuit or add to an existing one. Simply replace all of the existing switches you want to include in the circuit. If adding to an existing circuit, use the same X10 address assigned to the current switches. If you are creating a new circuit, choose one address and program it to each one of the switches. No traveler wires or additional programming is needed.

    Non-Volatile Memory
All X10 Toggle Wall Switch settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, X10 Toggle Wall Switch will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.

    90-Day Warranty
Smarthome warranties this product for 90 days.

    Safety Tested and Factory Certification
All Smarthome products are safety approved. The assembly line for Smarthome Design Products is ISO9002 certified. In order to meet the ISO 9002 standards, the entire factory underwent rigorous inspections of procedures and policies before being thoroughly audited. The certification received was based on its dedication to high quality management systems and strict adherence of quality systems and guidelines.

I purchased this to replace my older device and it worked much better.
    RUSSELL -- lawrenceville, GA   2/10/2012
    Very cool switch.
    AMY C. -- shelburne falls, MA   1/4/2012
We do not have a neutral wire; our electrician was able to use the ground wire. Works perfectly.
    KENNETH -- parkesburg, PA   1/3/2012
easy to install. range is farther than specs. priced fair. looks good. LED a nice touch.
    O'NEIL -- fort washington, MD   1/2/2012
Switch cannot be found by controller, Indigo 2.0. I bought both insteon and x-10 switches and they don't show up in Indigo. My old X-10 switch with the manual address works fine.
    WILLIAM -- lakeville, MN   11/30/2011
If I had known these don't respond to All On commands, I wouldn't have ordered them. Otherwise they work fine.
DAN -- new river, AZ   11/29/2011
One of the two I ordered would not take programming, so I'm exchanging it for a replacement. X10 has gotten less reliable over the years, as it's all "Made in China" now. Pity.
    MIKE -- loveland, OH   11/22/2011
Excellent value non-dimming switch for X10 installation. Perfect for CFLs. Toggle look/feel, responds to status requests, and easy to install.
    WILLIAM -- burnsville, MN   11/18/2011
    Doesn't support All On commands.
    WILLIAM -- burnsville, MN   11/18/2011
Works for everything but All On commands (all off is fine). Kind of annoying, but I can deal.
    Dave C. -- redding, CA   1/21/2012
Had two of these in a 3-way wiring circuit but failed after a couple of months.
    Justin -- mcdonough, GA   11/20/2011
They work great and as advertised. Since our brilliant government is removing incandescent bulbs from the shelves these are the way to go. They come default to A-1. You simply hold the led until it beeps and flashes. Then send the on command 3 times for the house code and number you wish. Done. I set one at one end of my house and one at the other on the same code for the flood lights. Now it's like one switch to light outside my house like a ball park. I replaced all of my switches. These and a wireless box with a 5 in 1 from X10 for $5 and you have complete control and can work the TV, VCR etc. New folks should get a cheap kit and move stuff around to see if the X10 system works for them. With a little moving around of things that absorb the signal and a phase coupler of your choice this can be a great system.
    Bill D. -- Minnesota   11/14/2011
Have to update my previous review. These do not respond to the ALL ON command but work fine for all off, and since that is quite specifically what I needed I'm forced to look at another brand of switch. -1 star for that.
    Bill D. -- Minnesota   11/4/2011
Installation is easy enough, but you must remember that these come unprogrammed for X10 as in no default address. You must have an X10 controller in order to program these, otherwise it's just a pretty switch with a light on it.
