Good
Most modern homes have at least one person with an iPod, so why not take advantage of your large music collection by incorporating it into your existing audio system. There is no need for an expensive music server or a special computer program. Your iPod is designed to be mobile, so use an iPort In-Wall Docking Station to add music to your home while relaxing or cleaning, or even let friends bring their music over to share while entertaining. The kit comes with an iPort that can be mounted flush to your wall and a decora-style audio wall plate. The iPort is a universal cradle used to connect all styles of iPods. The iPort connects to the audio wall plate via cat-5 cable (helpful for long runs). The audio wall plate has composite RCA outputs that will connect to a composite RCA input on your stereo receiver; there is also a power out connector on the audio wall plate. This is a great way to have your vast music compilation be part of your audio system at the press of a finger with the added feature of a professional looking in wall setup.
Better
With an 8-Speaker Distribution Panel you'll be able to achieve whole-house audio using your existing stereo system. Connect the your current speaker right and left speaker connections to the input on the distribution panel and you can rive up to 8 pairs of speakers throughout you home with one amplifier. For quality speakers at an affordable price, consider using the Smarthome Select 6-Inch In-ceiling Speakers (Pair).
Best
If you have added the distribution panel and speakers, you can cap off your audio system by using 80-Watt Impedance Matching Stereo Speaker Volume Control. This impedance matching volume control will allow you to compensate for the impedance drop of using multiple sets of speakers in parallel, allowing you to adjust the volume for a set of speakers you have added with the distribution panel, if you have added 8 speakers, all you need is 4 volume controls to have control of the volume in each speaker zone.
