As soon as you complete the application, you can visit LinkShare to add Smarthome.com links to your site, and begin earning commissions immediately. How much work is involved? It is as easy as copying and pasting our banner & text codes. No hand coding needed! How do I create links to Smarthome.com? Once LinkShare e-mails you with your user name and password, log into your account at LinkShare and add links and banners to your site from the Smarthome, Inc. links area. Can Smarthome make a customized banner or promotion for my site? Yes, we are happy to work with you on special promotions/contests and can make special banners for products/indexes upon your request. All banners not created by Smarthome needs to be approved by the Smarthome Affiliate Team. How Often do I get Paid? Commission fees are paid every month no matter what the amount is (we don't have a threshold). Do I earn commissions on my own purchases? Yes. Because we appreciate all that you do, you are eligible to earn the same commission on your own purchase. Do affiliates get paid for repeat visits? An affiliate gets commission fees on all sales generated through that affiliate site. Affiliates also get paid commissions if a visitor buys within fourteen days of the initial referral - even if they don't return through the same affiliate link. However, if a visitor to Smarthome.com doesn't accept cookies, or if they visit Smarthome.com through another affiliate link in the interim, the fourteen-day rule doesn't apply. What about product returns? If a user returns a product for a refund, or if credit card charges are reversed due to a dispute or credit card fraud, your account will be debited for any commission earned on that transaction. (If a product is returned in exchange for new merchandise, or if goods are lost or damaged and we ship replacement goods to the customer, your commissions will not be affected.) When and Where do I get Reports? Log into your account at LinkShare and go the "Run Reports" area to generate a personalized report for your needs. The types of reports include revenue reporting, quantity/price reporting and general reporting to give you an overview of how your affiliate program is working. Can I use PPC advertising to promote Smarthome Products? Yes, but there are some restrictions, see Terms & Conditions for more details. I don't have a Web site yet. Can I apply to be an affiliate anyway? Unfortunately in order for us to process your affiliate application, your Web site must be live so that we can review it. Who do I contact if I have questions?
