According to the US Department of Energy 58% of energy consumed by buildings is for heating, cooling and lighting. With the Commercial Smart Energy Controller from Intuitous building and office owners can cut down and even eliminate energy wasted in vacant spaces or rooms. This smart Commercial Energy Controller is a low voltage device capable of being mounted nearly anywhere within an HVAC control cabinet and then used in a variety of ways, such as connecting to occupancy sensors or being interconnected to a building's security system. When connected to occupancy sensors the Energy Controller can override the thermostat and enter into a managed setback mode for rooms that are vacant. Similarly, if interconnected to the building's security system the HVAC can be activated when the security system is turned off and deactivated when the last person leaves for the day and activates the alarm. Ultimately the results of the Commercial Smart Energy Controller are reduced runtimes which lead to less maintenance, less replacements and lower energy bills.     Terminal Connections - Inputs
    1PIRThe PIR input can be connected to the output from a standard security system motion sensor (or loop of sensors) to advise the controller when the space is occupied/unoccupied. Internal controller logic will assume the space is unoccupied when no human presence has been detected for greater than 30 minutes. The GND connection on the motion sensor must be connected to the “Aux –“ connection on the controller
    2PGM1The PGM output from the security panel that is programmed for AWAY must be connected to the PGM1 terminal. This input should be low (GND) when the security panel is ARMED and +12VDC when the space is occupied

    The Aux terminals provide a 12VDC output that can be used to power an input device or devices such as standard security motion sensors. The “Aux-“ terminal can also be connected through a set of dry contacts (from another system such as a BAS) back into the PGM1 terminal to initiate setback

    The temperature probe (or thermistor) that was supplied with the controller must be connected to the “T” terminals. The length of the thermistor leads may be extended up to 20 feet using standard thermostat or security cable

    The Intuitous Controller requires 18-28VAC supply (67mA @ 24Vac). This load should be easy to provide from most HVAC systems, however the supply and load side of the Intuitous controller are optically isolated, so any 24VAC/VDC supply will suffice. Note that the Intuitous Controller can also provide 12VDC output power for a motion sensor loop. When the 12VDC output is used, the current draw of the controller will exceed 67mA
