  • Saves the standby electricity consumed by home theater accessories in standby mode
  • Quick, easy installation
  • Use with your existing power strip

Essential Info

Most modern home theaters are comprised of much more than just a TV; they usually include an A/V receiver for surround sound, DVD player, Blu-ray player, gaming system, and/or a number of other components. If you're like most, when you turn your TV off, these components remain on in a standby mode, wasting energy and increasing your electricity bill. The TV TrickleSaver reduces the standby energy consumed by these TV accessory components by using a built-in current sensing circuitry to identify when your TV is On or Off. When the TV is On, the product will switch On all peripheral devices. Conversely when the TV is Off, theTV TrickleSaver will switch Off all accessories. The product is easy to install and provides simple automation to reduce wasteful standby energy consumption. It is suitable for residential and workplace applications. The TV TrickleSaver can be connected directly to your equipment or connected to a standard electrical power strip with any number of connected devices.

Important Notice for Pay TV / Free to Air Digital HDD Set Top Box Owners
Certain manufacturers of set-top boxes, which have Hard Disk Drive (HDD) functionality, do not recommend hard switching off of their products as programming and software updates are typically downloaded when set-top boxes are in standby mode. Please review the manufacturer's documentation prior to use of a TV TrickleSaver with these products.

  • Owner's manual
  • More Info

    Connecting the TV TrickleSaver
The Product connects to a TV and its accessories via two power socket cords. One power socket is the'Master' to which a TV is connected. The second power socket cord is the 'Slave' to which all the TV accessories (power strip with connected devices) are connected.

    Trimmer Threshold Setting
The ..Trimmer.., adjusts the Threshold at which the Accessory devices switch On/Off. The Trimmer Threshold is the power level (Watts) of the 'Master' device at which the product will switch On/Off the devices connected to the Slave Power Socket. The Trimmer Threshold range is from 20W - 200W.

    PC Installation
The Product can also be used with PCs (instead of a TV) when a PC TrickleSaver cannot be used - typically this is because the PC
USB port does not power down as required. Refer to the owner's manual for installation.

Does exactly what it's expected to do. Didn't even have to adjust it, just worked outta the box. I bought 2, and I can easily see a few other uses for these (besides TV's, DVD players and such) and I plan to get a couple more.

Have two of these units in use and they both work perfectly to control A/V receivers and other components when the co-located televisions are turned on or off. Recommended!

These have been working really well on the TV and electronics as well as our computers. Hopefully the savings by having all these electronics "all the way off" when the main unit is off start adding up! Easy to install, the worst part was just getting back to the plugs and re-arranging all the plugs. I recommend having maybe 2 power strips to set these up - one that will be the "turn off" stuff and one that will be the "always on stuff". At least, that's how we ended up using ours in single wall outlet / 2 plugs.

Great product that truly saves energy and money. The only issue I have is that the threshold is hard to set. What I found works best is using a small flathead screwdriver to adjust it.
RICKARD -- san jose, CA   2/26/2010
    Great so far.
    ANDREW -- fredericton, NB   2/15/2010
I ordered 2 of the trickleswitch tv energy savers. One of them stopped working after 1 week. The other is being used with components that are controlled by a harmony remote. I could not have the trickleswitch turn everything off for the remote to properly function due to lag time while the electronics warmed up.

Awesome device! Whereas it would be nice to use as a shutoff for an audio system... I use mine differently. My TV now turns on/off a wall-wart connected to a powerflash module. So now my home automation computer can tell what the power status of my TV is. Since a TV's power.. toggles on and off... I wouldn't what to automaticly turn off a TV... that is already off. This works perfectly!
    VADIMAS -- dublin, CA   1/30/2010
It was a gift and I hope my friend enjoyed it.
    ALAN -- bellevue, WA   12/18/2009
Super awesome. I don't use it to save energy per se. I just use it to turn on "mood" lights when my TV turns on. It's great!
    CHRIS -- anderson, IN   12/17/2009
Been using a similar device by Radio Shack....could never get it adjusted to work every time. This TrickleSwitch thing is the "berries". Works perfect all the time. I use it to tell my X-10 controller that the TV is on....Kind of like a house occupancy detector. :)

    Great product! Easy to use.
