Essential Info
CasaTunes XLi provides the computer software and hardware to create a premium whole home audio solution in homes with multiple audio receiver components and internet access. The package includes a PCI-e audio card for the main PC which is used as a server for the audio distribution. The card acts as a matrix with capability to output stored music (i.e. .mp3, .m4p, .midi and .wav) to six different zones using the built in audio outputs. The included audio cables can be wired to any audio receivers with an available audio input. The software gives users in different rooms (zones) the ability to access up to five different audio sources from the server at the same time or have the same music playing on all zones simultaneously. The PC server can control every zone or each zone can have independent control via a PC or device with internet access. The PCI-e card features an audio input that can also be accessed from each zone, which is ideal for an am/fm tuner, XM or Sirius satellite radio, iPod or other mp3 player. Additionally, there is an infrared (IR) input available on the PCI-e card for integrating a remote control. This incredible multi-room music system integrates an advanced music server into your computer and enables multiple users to access your PC based music collection, iPod, iTunes, internet radio, or various external music sources throughout the rooms in your home.
Please Note: A multi-channel amplifier and speakers are required for installation. For access within a zone, you will need a computer or a device with web access to control your music.

Wake: The Wake button allows you to setup wake-up alarms.
Sleep: The Sleep button allows you to have the music you are listening to automatically turn off after a set amount of time. This button is only usable (active) when the room is on.
Magnifying Glass: Click on this to go to the details of the room that it is associated with.
View Queue: Select this to see a list of items that are playing in the Music Player (Music Source). This choice will not be seen when you are listening to Internet Radio or if you select an external Music Source.
Play Now & Add to Queue: Play Now starts playing your selection immediately, replacing anything that was already playing, whereas Add to Queue adds your selection to the end of the list of playing music on that Music Source.
Home: Selecting Home takes you back to the “view by room” window.
Music Type: Selects the type of music you want to listen to.
Refresh Library: If you make any changes to your iTunes or Windows Media Player libraries, such as adding playlists or editing titles or songs or albums, you should refresh the library.
Continuous play: (view by room) - Click on this to change its state. When red, all the music in the queue plays through once and then the player stops. When green, the music starts over after reaching the end of the queue.
Previous: (view by room) - Click on this button to go back to the beginning of the song. Click again quickly to go back to the previous song.
Next: (view by room)- Click on this button to go the next song.
Progress Bar: (view by room) - Shows the progress of the song being played.
If you have My Windows, iPod or iTunes selected as the Music Type you will be able to select your music by album (with pictures of the album covers), song title, artist, genre (type of music) or you can pick a playlist that the installer has set up for you.

All these components are available as a free download from the Microsoft web site, except for IIS which is built-in to the operating systems.
