Vanco 280791 HDMI and IR HDBaseT over Cat5e/Cat6 Cable Extender Balun Receiver is designed to work with Vanco 16x16 and 8x8 HDBaseT Matrix Selector Switches, each sold separately. An HDMI signal can be transmitted from the matrix switch to the receiver at a distance of up to 100 meters (328 feet) while using a single cat5 or cat6 cable as the transmission media. This eliminates the need to purchase expensive, fixed length HDMI cables, instead you can use the inexpensive Cat5 or Cat6 cable set to a custom length for you application. The Receiver working with the Matrix Switch has the ability of equalizing and amplifying the HDMI signal. The IR system (IR receiver included) can control the sources from the receiver, or can control the receiver from sources - thus both downstream and upstream controls are available ( IR Transmitter sold separately).
