The USB 5.1 Channel Audio Adapter can transform your standard desktop or laptop audio into a quality surround sound system without the need to purchase or install a new sound card. Simple plug-and-play technology allows you to insert the Adapter into any free USB 1.1 port and the drivers will load automatically. The compact USB 5.1 Channel Audio Adapter is a multi functional device that supports rear audio, center / sub woofer, front audio, microphone in, line in, LED Power indicator, and easy to use plus and minus volume controls. Use a 1/8" mini-jack plug to connect your powered speakers into the appropriate speaker input and your adapter is ready to provide an instant boost in clarity and performance that music, movies and video games are intended to deliver. By using the 1/8" mini-jack microphone and line in, you can also connect additional audio equipment such as a microphone, home stereo, musical instrument, or portable music player. A CD is included with a program for advanced surround sound and recording functions. No external power supply is required.
Important Note: On a Mac operating system, the volume buttons of the adapter are not functional and there is 2-channel playback only.
Hands-On Research:
When tested on a desktop PC, the USB 5.1 Audio Adapter was immediately recognized as a new device and the device drivers automatically loaded. The speakers were disconnected from the back of the PC and then plugged into the Adapter. After sampling both a song and a video from Windows Media Player, the sound was of a significantly higher quality than previously experienced. The Sound System software was also loaded and had same look, feel, and ease of use as the standard Windows Volume Control.

The USB 5.1 Channel Audio Adapter only requires you to plug it into a free USB 1.1 port on your desktop or laptop, let the drivers install automatically on your Windows or Mac operating system, and connect any 1/8" mini-jack powered speakers and/or subwoofer into the corresponding input. You can control basic volume on the adapter with a press of your finger on the + or - buttons. For advanced controls, a CD is provided with a simple download of the Sound Station software, which gives you a more complete control of your audio settings.
