    This speaker is an improvement over the ones I used to get from Radio Shack. The volume is a little louder; because of the soft covering, it is comfortable, even if I sleep directly over it; the cord was long enough to simply attach it to my player; My experience has been that previously bought pillow speakers did not last that long so I ordered two of these; hopefully, I will be able to continue to use the first one before it stops working and my then having to switch to the 2nd backup one. I also thought the shipping charge was fair.

    I wanted to use the speaker inside my pillow as an alarm clock. I found that unless my ear was right over the speaker I couldn't hear it. It also had a fleece cover on it which would come off inside the pillow if I moved the speaker. I think if you were using it right up against your ear it would be fine.
