Essential Info
You don't need to buy multiple DVD players and stereos to install them in each room of your home. The Rack-Mounted 8-Source 8-Zone Controller/Amplifier system allows you to connect up to eight A/V components to a single controller that lets you access any component through wall-mounted keypads in eight different zones of your house. Simply connect your DVD, CD, satellite, VCR and/or any other source of audio or video, and then control any of them with a touch of a button. Get creative: control music sources, lighting, paging and video from within any zone. The included eight master keypads have built-in IR receivers to control your system using your existing remotes, and they come with a number of different-colored faceplates to suit your décor.
Due to excessive weight, Smarthome will add a heavy-item shipping charge to this item. This charge will be reflected in the shipping amount on the check-out page.

Control A/V Components Remotely Using Wall-Mounted KeypadsThe 8-Source 8-Zone Controller/Amp comes with eight pre-configured MKP-8.1 master keypads, which connect to the controller and source components via cat. 5 cable. The controller transmits your zone commands to control system functions and source components. Connect up to eight A/V components for individual control from any keypad in your home. The MZC-88 also has two built-in AM/FM tuners; program 10 AM or FM stations in each zone for personalized radio. Add a Dual AM-FM Tuner (sold separately), and you'll be able to listen to an additional two radio stations in an additional two zones of your home simultaneously. Mount the controller on shelves in a wall unit, entertainment center or closet; it will also mount in a standard 19-inch rack mount system. Carefully attach an IR Emitter (sold separately) over the IR eye on the front panel of each external source component to be controlled, and the system will send your keypad commands over cat. 5 wiring to the component you wish to control.
Expand Keypad Control for Varied CommandsInstall the keypads in standard J-boxes using the provided screws. Wall plates are sold separately. Expand component control by adding numeric and function keypads, which allow you to access specific CD tracks or fast-forward through a videotape: You won't even need to leave the room to control A/V components located remotely.
Free Programming Software AvailableThis whole-house audio/video system is configured and programmed using EZ-Tools, a free, downloadable software program that lets you assign commands to buttons, create macros, and schedule events, among many other options.
Access Components From Any ZoneEach zone consists of an EZ-Pad, zone speaker pair, and zone TV/video display. Once set up, you'll be able to access any of the connected components to play through your zone's speakers and TV, so with the press of a button, you'll be able to play a movie in surround sound on your TV, even though the DVD player is set up in another room. You can still use the DVD player's remote control, so you can watch a movie in your comfortable bed just before falling asleep.
Connect Surveillance Cameras, Intercoms, PhoneIf you have surveillance cameras set up around your home, you can access their video feeds using a keypad button, even setting up the system to interrupt video viewing when someone rings the doorbell. In this way, you won't even need to leave the room to see who's at the door. Connect the system to your intercom and phone line to interrupt audio with an internal page, and you'll be sure your teenagers hear your call over the stereo! Two single-pole dry-relay contacts can activate any device that can be controlled or triggered by a switch closure.
Installers' Tool Available for Expanded InstallationThe LTM-1.0 Learn/Test Module (sold separately) is primarily an installer's tool and serves as an IR learning, IR teaching and IR command test module. It includes blaster emitters so that learning remotes, used in conjunction with EZPads, can be programmed with system IR commands. A serial-mini plug transfer cable is available for easy uploading. You can also add a MODE Jukebox to store your entire audio collection for one-button access through a wall-mounted keypad. Want to connect your iPod to access your favorite tunes from any keypad in the house? The SpeakerCraft MODE Base makes it happen.
SpeakerCraft products are to be sold to U.S. addresses only.
