What good does a whole-house audio system do if the only control switch is on the other side of the house? By combining maximum control with flexible ease of use, SpeakerCraft has designed a Multi-Zone Controller for six sources and six zones. Simply connect your DVD, CD, satellite, VCR or any other source of audio or video, and then control any of them with a touch of a keypad button from any of six different zones in your home. Get creative: control music sources, lighting, paging and video from within any zone. Keypads are required for zone control and are sold separately for maximum personalization. This six-source, six-zone controller offers 12 channels of 30-watt digital amplification for efficiency in a compact metal chassis. Each zone of audio is independently powered by the amplifier and controlled via individual keypads located in each of the audio zones. Selecting the perfect system to suit your needs is as easy as determining the number of rooms you would like to have audio in and selecting which type of keypad you would like to control each zone with.
How to select the perfect system for your needs:1) First, select an amplifier/distributor with the correct number of zones that correspond to the number of rooms you would like to play music in. Amplifier/distributors are available in a 4 Zone, 6 Source configuration or a 6 Zone, 6 Source configuration. If you would like to provide music to more than six rooms, expansion units are available to provide up to 12 zones of independent audio.
2) Next, select the type of keypads you would like to use to control the independent zones of music. Your choices for each room include a Master Keypad with IR Receiver, a Master Keypad without IR Receiver, or a Mode Keypad with 3 1/2" Color Display. Each of the Master Keypads will allow you to control volume, select sources and turn the local zone on and off. The Mode Keypad will provide you with the same control as the Master Keypads with the addtion of an LED display which will provide feedback and metadata from your music source.
Wiring Audio to Each Room of Your Home is SimpleThe 6-Source 6-Zone Controller/Amplifier is wired to each zone of audio with two sets of wires- cat5 and speakerwire. Cat 5 wire connects from the Controller/Amplifier to each keypad and is used for control. Speaker wire connects from the Controller/Amplifier to the speakers in each zone to deliver the audio signal. You can purchase these items separately or as a kit.
Add a Dual AM-FM Tuner (sold separately) to your whole-house audio system, and you'll be able to listen to two radio stations in two different zones of your home simultaneously. You can also add a MODE Jukebox to store your entire audio collection for one-button access through a wall-mountedkeypad. Want to connect your iPod to access your favorite tunes from any keypad in the house? The SpeakerCraft MODE Base makes it happen.
