Maintain your A/V source components in a single place while accessing and controlling them remotely from anywhere in the house. The SpeakerCraft EZ-Pad system is an expandable IR repeating system that uses an RS-485 communication protocol between the keypads and controller, letting users press buttons on an easy-to-read keypad or even use a component's original infrared remote to send commands to another room. The EZ-Pad Controller is a 6-zone central system that allows remote control of components using wall-mounted keypads, which are sold separately. This system can even manage RS-232-controlled components, including lighting systems.

Start your system control with the Master Keypad w/IR Receiver, a single gang J-box unit. This unit can select sources, control component functions, repeat infrared signals and turn systems on or off. The Master Keypad is also available without a built-in IR receiver. You can then expand this Master unit to include a numeric keypad and/or a function keypad for expanded control of source components. Each zone can support 16 individually addressable keypads.
Program the buttons in all of your EZ-Pad System keypads using the Learn/Test Module (sold separately), and you'll be able to eliminate the need of costly and complicated sensing schemes and macro programming. The SpeakerCraft Learn/Test Module uses its included EZ-Tools software, which contains most IR command codes for the major brands. This module will also test both internal and learned codes using a built-in IR blaster. A serial-mini plug transfer cable is available for easy uploading.
You can use RJ-45 connectors to connect the Cat. 5 cable to the keypads. Simply insert an RJA-1.1 RJ-45 Adapter's pins into the keypad's EZ-Connect Terminals and snap the levers in place. The package, which is sold separately, contains six adapters.
