The QuietComfort Headphones provide the combination of Bose's best noise reduction technology with its best headphone audio performance, all in an ergonomic design that allows for a comfortable fit in headphones that fold flat for easy storage. The QuietComfort Headphones feature Bose's Acoustic Noise Canceling® headphone technology, which electronically identifies and reduces unwanted noise while faithfully preserving the music, speech or even the silence you desire. Microphones in the earcups actively monitor the sounds you hear. The difference between the unwanted sound and the desired sound is then electronically processed. The driver within the earcup creates a correction signal that opposes the effect of the outside noise and that, combined with the passive attenuation of the headset itself, dramatically reduces it. These headphones also feature proprietary Bose technology that utilizes three small ports in the earcups to produce a rich audio performance. TriPort® headphone technology allows the driver to create deep lows while keeping the design small and lightweight.
A single detachable audio cable gives you easy access to portable players, home stereos and in-flight entertainment systems, all with less tangling than two-cable designs. That same cable can be removed so your headphones can go "cordless" when you simply want the benefits of noise reduction. To make the connection, insert the headphone plug into the jack on the audio source you will use. For a single, 3.5mm jack (on most portable sources), use the single plug; no adapter is needed. For two 3.5mm jacks, use the dual plug adapter, and for one 6.3mm jack (for home stereos), use the 6.3mm stereo phone adapter.
For a limited time, when you purchase the QuietComfort Headphones, you'll also receive a Bose CD player. Play CDs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs on this gift from Bose. This portable unit runs on two AA batteries (sold separately) and has five different play modes: normal, repeat, repeat all, shuffle, and intro, which plays 10 seconds of each CD track. The display area shows track information.
You can use the headphones with a variety of audio sources: airline audio, a CD, DVD or MP3 player, a personal or laptop computer, or home stereo; the list is almost endless! The maximum input voltage is 9 Vrms.
