At the core of the Lifestyle 38 Home Entertainment System is the elegant control center, which features a built-in progressive scan DVD/CD player and AM/FM tuner. You'll have high-quality playback for the latest media formats, including: DVD, DVD-R, CD, CD-R/RW, VCD, PCM, digital 5.1, MP3 files and MPEG-2.
Store approximately 200 hours of music in the elegant media center. You'll no longer need to keep that big rack of bulky CDs handy. The uMusic™ intelligent playback system actually listens to your music and learns your preferences, then makes selections based on what you like and adapting to your preferences as they change. Nine presets mean that the uMusic™ system will recall the personal listening preferences for each member of your household, or use different presets for different listening times or frames of mind: wake-up, workout, weekends, homework.
Storing your music collection is simple. Insert a CD or MP3 CD into the media center's disc tray and press the button on the control panel to begin storing the audio content. Each CD will take approximately five minutes to store, with additional time allotted for the cataloging of each CD. As it stores and processes the tracks from your CDs, this system draws information about the tracks in order to display information when each track is playing, including title, artist, album, and genre. This information is gleaned from the system's internal music databases. Once your audio library is stored, you can play songs or whole CDs or even create playlists of your favorite tunes. Make music selections from the music library, where you can browse by artist, genre, or other categories.
Enjoy greater freedom of speaker placement with the ADAPTiQ® audio calibration system, which analyzes the way your room's dimensions and other variables affect sound, then automatically adjusts the sound of your Lifestyle 38 Home Entertainment System to the acoustics of your room. Bose uses Direct/Reflecting® technology, which allows you to experience lifelike spaciousness from a natural balance of reflected and direct sound, similar to a live performance. Five Virtually Invisible® Direct/Reflecting® cube speaker arrays deliver rich sound without taking up a lot of space and work with the Acoustimass® module, which produces resounding low notes with clarity, bringing action sequences to life and adding fullness to music. Since the Acoustimass module can be placed out of sight, all the sound seems to come from the 6-inch Direct/Reflecting® speaker arrays. Digital Dynamic Range® compression circuitry lets you hear soft sounds (particularly dialogue) even at low listening levels, and still appreciate the impact of dynamic special effects. Especially useful for late night listening, it eliminates the need for you to adjust the volume constantly. You'll even enjoy more from your VHS favorites. Videostage® 5 decoding circuitry and digital 5.1 decoding give you a 5.1-channel presentation from practically any source, including vintage TV and movies.
All Lifestyle® DVD systems are equipped with Bose® link to bring Bose sound to as many as 14 additional rooms, even outdoors. Simply add compatible Bose products for access to your entire music collection from any room in your home. You can choose from two audio streams in any of these rooms and enjoy independent volume control, as well. You can also expand your system to additional rooms by adding the Bose SA-3 Lifestyle Stereo Amplifier, which connects your Lifestyle system directly to non-powered speakers. Up to 14 can be added to any Lifestyle system.
The advanced radio-frequency remote control provided with the Lifestyle 38 Home Entertainment System works from almost anywhere inside your home. Simply press any button. There is no need to aim the remote at the media center. You can even choose to set the Lifestyle® remote to control your TV, cable or satellite box, or VCR so that it will turn these devices on or off.
You can establish a preset for up to 20 AM and 20 FM stations. Additional features include parental controls, a headphone jack, and a sleep timer that can be adjusted to turn off your Lifestyle 38 Home Entertainment System automatically in 10 to 90 minutes.
Expand your Lifestyle system to additional rooms wirelessly! The Bose AL8 Homewide Wireless Audio Link delivers two independent audio streams from your system to a system or powered speakers in another room without running any wires.
The Lifestyle 38 Home Entertainment System is also available in white or silver.
