Hi-Fi AM/FM/HD radio technology offers clear, static-free HD digital radio reception. Using FM multicasting, HD radio provides the ability to receive multiple program streams over a single FM frequency. Unlike satellite radio where you have to purchase a subscription, HD radio programming is free; there are no monthly subscription fees. Use the presets to program up to 20 of your favorite AM and FM radio stations. A clock with sleep timer is another simple yet convenient feature of this device. You can connect the HD Hi-Fi Radio Receiver to an external audio receiver via the audio out jack, audio RCA cable (sold separately). An easy to see large, full-dot matrix backlit LCD display has brightness, contrast and display mode adjustments; a full-function remote control is also included.

What is HD Radio Technology?
HD radio broadcasting was approved by the Federal Communications Commission in October of 2002 as the system for digital AM and DM broadcasting in the United States. HD radio technology features include:
Static-free, clear radio reception
FM multicasting - the ability to broadcast multiple program streams over a single FM frequency
A variety of "data service" that include text-based information, such as artist name, song title, etc., scrolled across the receiver display
Digital broadcasts in the same frequencies as analog broadcasts, listeners do not need to learn a new station number and today's stations remain at their current place on the dial
