Essential Info
Portable phones make life easy, because you can wander all over the house while talking. But since the handset requires a base for charging, you're still stuck with answering the phone in a single location. Panasonic has ended this problem with this 5.8 GHz expandable phone system that includes a digital answering machine. Up to four handsets can be placed all over your house, even in the garage! And they don't need phone jacks; only one is needed for the base unit.

More Info
|
But this is more than just a portable phone. The 5.8GHz Cordless Phone/Answer Machine has Talking Caller ID technology, so you'll never again have to look at a screen to see who's calling you. By incorporating true text-to-speech technology, the phone's Caller ID announcement will sound less mechanical than some other services. Fifty numbers are saved in the Caller ID memory; use them to dial out or return calls.
Up to 16 minutes of messages can be saved with time and date stamps on the all-digital answering system, and you can create up to three mailboxes for multiple family members. No more wading through endless messages for your teenager to hear your important calls! And since messages are recorded in flash memory, you won't have to worry about losing any in the event of a power outage.
With 5.8 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, this phone operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining voice-scrambling digital security, incredible clarity and long range. 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g WiFi.
The 5.8GHz Cordless Phone/Answer Machine has multiple features for convenience of use. Four-way conferencing and voice paging to all handsets are just the beginning of these features. The base and all handsets double as speakerphones, so you can put your phone down when you're on hold or working in the kitchen with both hands. The tip of the antenna lights up red to alert you to an incoming call or a waiting message, so you can turn off the ringer, let the kids sleep, and never miss a call.
Choose from any of the three ring tones or four melodies, or download a ringer melody. Additional features include a headset jack, hold/flash/redial, and a handset locator.
The additional handsets are sold separately. Caller ID, Call Waiting, and Call Waiting ID are all services provided by your phone company for a fee.
