Hear and see the highest quality sound and video possible from your movie and music components with the Sony 7.1 Home Theater Receiver. HDMI signals are upconverted to 1080p 60Hz - the best video possible. This hi-fi receiver comes equipped with 7.1 channels supplying 110 watts per channel, and the unit supports many audio formats, so you'll be able to play your DVDs and laser discs in digital surround sound. Components and connecting cables are sold separately.

The Auto Format Direct mode instructs the receiver to detect the type of audio signal being input automatically and perform the proper decoding if necessary. Alternatively, you can select the decoding mode you want for your audio sound. The Sony 7.1 Home Theater Receiver offers Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, and dts decoding, among others.

Optimized for Blu-ray Discs and other HD Sources

Sony's A/V Receivers are engineered to be the ideal Blu-ray Disc A/V receiver, fully compatible with the Sony Blu-ray Disc Player. Superior video switching and audio performance ensure seamless compatibility with today's demanding HD sources. The STRDG910 supports Linear PCM and has two HDMI inputs that are capable of accepting resolutions up to 1080p, offering the full video quality that the Blu-ray Disc format can deliver.

Once your components are connected to the receiver, it's time to connect your speakers (sold separately). This receiver allows you to use a 7.1 channel speaker system. To enjoy theater-like multi-channel surround sound fully, you'll need five speakers: two front speakers, a center speaker, and two surround speakers, as well as a subwoofer. You can enjoy high-fidelity reproduction of DVD software recorded in the Surround EX format if you connect one or two additional surround back speakers. Speaker cable is sold separately. Follow the instructions on the on-screen menu to set up your speakers, setting the specific distance from the listening position to the speakers and adjusting the speaker levels and balance.

Digital Cinema Auto Calibration

Now the optimal speaker settings for your living room are only a press of button away. Simply place the included microphone in your listening position and allow the strength of Sony's Digital Signal Processing to take over. Speaker placement, distance, and delays are all calibrated automatically to ensure a worry free listening experience.

Use the included remote as a universal remote to control the components in your system. The remote can even learn functions not stored in its presets from the component's existing remote. The remote will even learn and play two macros, a series of up to 10 commands in sequential order as a single command.

Digital Cinema Sound

Sony's Digital Cinema Sound processing technology brings clarity, richness, and realism to your Home Theater experience as only high-definition audio can. Digital Cinema Sound technology recreates true movie theater sound in your home, recreating specific acoustic environments through three digital signal-processing modes, selectable with buttons on the Home Theater Receiver's front panel. Choose among them to stress dialog, special effects, or music.

Advanced A/V Sync

Special Digital Signal Processing allows for lip sync delay to adjust to match the refresh rates of today's advanced flat panel televisions and microdisplays.

XM Connect and Play Ready

A world of digital radio is at your fingertips. Connect the optional Connect-and-Play antenna, sign up for XM service and enjoy the variety of digital radio with the superior sound quality of an A/V receiver.

Preset 30 of your favorite FM and 30 AM radio stations. Additional features include amplifier relocation, which allows you to listen to a different audio source in a different room from the same receiver.

Stream Your Music Files

Today, most of your music is stored as files somewhere on your computer network. By adding Sony's Digital Media Port Wi-Fi Client, you can access these files and play them through this receiver. Now you can enjoy your music in all its high fidelity splendor instead of using those cheesy PC speakers! This accessory can access your music files via either your Wi-Fi network or hardwired to your Ethernet. And when connected to your TV, you can see streamed video or the file info.
