Essential Info

The Hopkins Manufacturing 60100VA nVISION Back-Up Sensor System helps reduce blind spots and increases visibility by detecting objects behind your vehicle. Protect your vehicle from rear-end collisions, eliminate blind spots, and increase visibility. The mounting bracket with SmartZone^™ sensors easily mounts behind your license plate and detects objects up to 5.5 feet away with three alert zones. The sensor alerts you with an audible alarm and it increases in intensity as the object behind the vehicle becomes closer. The Back-Up Sensor System is perfect for cars, trucks, SUV's, and RV's.

SmartZone Sensing:
- Red Zone: 0' - 1.5' The audible alarm will sound a solid 'beep' tone (Beeeeep). This alerts the driver to STOP immediately.
- Yellow Zone: 1.5' - 3.5' The audible alarm frequency will begin to increase in intensity (Beep..Beep..Beep..). This alerts the driver to PREPARE TO STOP.
- Green Zone: 3.5’ - 5.5’ The audible alarm will begin to beep a slow tone (Beep.....Beep.....Beep.....). This alerts the driver that an object is behind the vehicle.

It sort of works. In general, you have to be really close to an object, and going very slowly, before it starts to beep. And sometimes when you shift into reverse, it emits a long beep for no reason - nothing back there. So, it sort of works ...

Works Great! Should have read the review about the double snap on the connector. Called manufacturer and they sent me another one. Surprised that they did not mention about the double snap. Instructions do not mention that. Otherwise, love it.

Terrific product. Install on an 05 Pontiac was 30 minutes. Instructions should indicate that the in-line connector requires significant force to insert fully it has a double snapand I suspect some customers will end up thinking the unit is defective. Also installed one on a friend's 07 Ford pick-up. I suggest a cut-out for the wire on the top edge of the unit so it can be mounted upside down as I did for the Pontiac to access an existing hole under the license plate.

I bought two of these for my cars. I put them both on this weekend, each taking about 1.5 to 2 hours of time. They work great. Much more sensitive and a broader sensing area than I thought they would have considering there were only two sensors. Most of the installation time was spent removing inside trim panels and routing the wires. The wire splices worked fine and the instructions are OK but short. The beeper wire could be a bit longer, I don't think it would reach the front seat. I put both of mine at the rear of the car, one on the rear shelf and the other car on the liftgate. You can hear the beeper just fine. I test fit one of these on my 2009 Ranger pickup in the step and tow bumper to see if it would work there too. It did, so I am ordering a third unit for that vehicle.
