Essential Info

The Sooteater CRD307 Chimney Extension Rods is for use with the SootEater Chimney cleaning system. Each rod is 3' long, two rods are included with each order. Spinning chimney whip removes dangerous soot and creosote buildup better than a brush. Helps prevent flue fires. Unique trim to fit design fits multiple flue sizes. Will work on round from 5 to 18'' in diameter; 12'' x 12'' square, rectangle or oval flues up to 8 x 12''. Won't scratch metal flues like a steel brush. Fits through tight areas. Fits on any drill and spins forward and reverse. Cleans from the bottom up without getting on a ladder so you can DIY and save money. Includes (6) 3' long flexible rods with reversible bottom link quick connect system.

The rods themselves have been redesigned and are now thicker and black in color. They are also straight (as opposed to curved like the white rods) and more flexible. The only slightly bad thing is that the connecting ends seem to have been made to a tighter tolerance and it is more difficult to assemble and disassemble the sections, both to each other and also to the older design. Otherwise it's a good product and better than climbing up on the roof in the middle of winter to brush out the flue!

While I have not actually used these particular rods yet, I assume they are identical to the ones that came with the Sooteater cleaning system, which worked very well. The rods are rugged, yet flexable and the connections very solid. I've only used the system once but they seem well made and I expect they will last quite a while.

the extension rods worked good for the sooteater that we purchased from this company. The sooteater is one of the most appreciated tools that we have. NO longer does my 75 year husband have to go onto our 2 story house plus over 10 feet of rock chimney to clean it out every couple of months during our heavy winters.

Hard to give something so mundane an excellent rating, but they worked fine... I bought the original kit in a store and paid more than I would have online. Then I discovered the kit was too short and I needed extension rods, but the store did not carry them. Hence my purchase. I would recommend them. Used them twice now and they seem like they will hold up for years...
