The Odorsorb technology is what simplehuman uses in their trashcans to keep the smell of garbage out of the kitchen. The way in which this is incorporated into the Compost Pail is via a simplehuman charcoal filter mounted under the lid. This charcoal filter absorbs and then neutralizes the odors emanating from the compost that are stored away inside the container. Also aiding in this process is the ventilated lid which helps control odors by allowing air to flow in and out of the container. You can rest assured that this Compost Pail won't be an eyesore either as it has a sleek brushed stainless steel exterior as well as a wire ring around the top that will keep your bag inside the pail hidden should you choose to use one.
