    Device functions exactly as described. Easy to use. No on/off/reset switch. Plug it in, it measures/unplug to stop/reset. Reasonable price for what it does. Would like to see a 'peak watts used' in addition to current watts & KWh for time measured. Did need to have short (12-24 in) extension cords & power strip to measure various devices in/around the home. Plugs of some devices were difficult to plug in/remove.

    Unit performs exactly as described. It is a valuable aid in viewing electical device current useage, such as window A/Cs. I have proved buying new A/Cs with higher energy ratings is cheaper than usng older ones over a one year period.

    So far I have not been able to get it to work. The intent was to get information about how many watts I use so I can determine solar energy needs. But so far nothing seems to register. I intend to call Smarthome to find out the problem.

    Not quite as nice as the Watts Up Pro ES, but does the trick. Fairly easy to upgrade for wireless monitoring with the tweet-a-watt kit from adafruit dot com.

    I like the idea of this as it is helpful to find out where the electricity is being spent. However, it is kind of bulky. It takes up a whole outlet or two to three spaces on a surge protector for computer equipment. We had to get other adaptors to get it all plugged it for a count. Small cords were hard to plug in and pull out. It was hard to read sometimes as I had to put it in upside down in a dark area. Wish the numbers were readable for 20 seconds after you unplugged it.I haven't yet tried it on my large appliances as they are hard to pull out. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to find out where some electricity is being spent, but remember it can not be used for everything like the water heater which counts for a lot of energy.

    We have done 2 things with this. One is we put a heater in a storage building for the 3 outside cats this winter and this has monitored how much the heater is costing us. Second is we have been working with friends to measure computers and TV's and cell phone chargers and other appliances to see what they cost fully on and what they cost in sleep mode. It has been very enlightening.
