Essential Info
Today's homes present all types of potential interference to reliable Infrared (IR) transmission such as plasma/LCD TV emissions and ambient light sources (fluorescent lights and sunlight). The ATON Plasma Friendly IR Receiver and IR Emitter Distribution Kit features all the components needed to reliably control up to four remote devices via IR remote control even in the presence of interference. The AIR5 IR receiver effectively filters interference allowing for IR control even in the most extreme interference conditions. The AIB4 connecting block receives signals from the connected IR receiver and distributes the signals to the IR emitters. The AIE2 IR emitters (four included) are connected to the connecting block and attach to the source audio video components. This kit is the ideal solution for a professional looking home theater or media room installation where the goal is to have full control of all audio and video source components (satellite TV tuner, Blu-ray player, CD player, etc.) while they are hidden in an entertainment cabinet or equipment closet.
How it Works The ATON Plasma Friendly IR Receiver and IR Emitter Distribution Kit extends the convenience of remote control for your audio/video equipment to additional areas throughout the home. For example, you can control a satellite TV tuner, Blu-ray player, CD player and radio tuner (all located in a entertainment cabinet or equipment closet) from your bedroom, kitchen, or den. Place the included IR receiver in the room from which you wish to access your A/V components. The IR receiver will relay commands from your handheld remote to the IR distribution block, which in turn routes the remote commands through the IR emitters, which are attached to each component. The components will respond to the remote commands, just as if you were standing right in front of them with your handheld remote.

More Info

Tabletop IR Receiver The ATON AIR5 is a miniature 'plasma-friendly' IR receiver designed to sit on a shelf, cabinet or any flat surface. This receiver uses advanced IR filtering technology which allows it to work even in areas that receive normally harmful interference (near plasma TV's, compact fluorescent lights, etc.). The IR lens rejects visible light interference and an internal crosshatch shield inhibits EMI/ESI interference. The plug is attached to an eight foot cord allowing plenty of room for convenient placement of the receiver. Built-in status and activity indicators offer LED feedback for system On/Off and IR signal activity.
Talk Back IR Emitters ATON IR Emitters are designed for reliable transmission of IR signals as well as easy installation. All emitters feature a convenient docking module that stays in place on the IR window of the A/V component, allowing you to easily remove the emitter when rearranging or servicing A/V equipment. The ATON AIE2 is a sophisticated, detachable IR emitter. It features a docking station that permits temporary removal of the emitter for rearranging or servicing components. The AIE2 flashes red when emitting IR signals, making it an ideal troubleshooting tool. The emitter housing is transparent, which allows IR commands from handheld remotes to pass through the housing and control the equipment. An optional IR blocking shield is included with each model to prevent interference from other IR emitters at the equipment location. All emitters have 8' leads and a standard 3.5 mm plug.
Amplified IR Connecting Block An IR distribution block is the hub of any stand-alone IR distribution system. IR receivers receive IR commands from your remote and pass those commands on to the distribution block. The distribution block then splits out these commands to multiple connected IR emitters which are attached to the devices needing to be controlled. The ATON AIB4 is a single input, four output Amplified IR Connection Block designed to provide a convenient way of interconnecting IR control products. It ensures that any IR command that is received is sent out with equal signal strength to each connected IR emitter using a robust, wide-bandwidth amplifier with reverse voltage protection so that it has the ability to drive both mini-emitters and high-output emitters reliably. There are four IR emitter outputs that support both standard IR emitters and high-power IR blasters. IR receivers can be connected either to the 3.5 mm jack of the AIB4, or to the flip-lock connector for bare wire connections. Each emitter has a docking station with adhesive tape; simply mount the docking station to the IR receiver window on your component and slide the emitter into place.
