It works by silently expelling the heat off heat sinks of receivers, amplifiers, preamps, decoders, or other equipment that tends to run hot. The powerful fans suck out all the hot air and force it through the exhaust tubes on the front of the Cool Stack. Just install the unit above the AV devices that generate the most heat. All this happens while the Cooler generates a nearly silent 26 to 28 dB of sound.
