The Leviton Voice & Data Division 4x4 Breakout Module distributes an incoming (T568A) four-line telephone connection into individual lines for use on one or two line output connectors. A pass through connector, labeled "OUT" on the module, is provided to allow all four lines access to other equipment.

The 4x4 Breakout Module consists of six, eight position RJ-45 voice grade connectors, embossed with identifiers on the front. Connector one is labeled "IN", the second connector "OUT", and the remaining four breakout connectors are labeled "L1, L2", "L2, L1", "L3, L4" and "L4, L3".

The first number of each pair is the primary line connected. The second number is used only in the case of a two-line phone hook-up, and indicates pair two, or the secondary pair.
