Leviton's 1x8 1GHz Enhanced RF Distribution Module provides management and distribution of RF signals (Cable TV, Antenna, etc.) on coaxial cable throughout the house. The 1x8 Enhanced RF Distribution Module provides distribution of incoming video service to 8 outputs. The module's built-in amplifier is adjustable to compensate for variations in incoming signal strength. This allows the signal to be the same strength outgoing as incoming. The module also provides a bi-directional digital path to support cable modem or cable box communications. Its 2 GHz bandwidth is better suited for today's updated cable systems that run broadband internet, video on demand and telephone service, all on the same coax cable.

This worked as advertised but I was annoyed by the black plastic connectors that attach the module to the panel. It's not tight and pops out easy. I would have expected more from Leviton. But that's a minor inconvenience really and nothing to do with the real quality of the product.

I purchased item on recommendation of someone else. I thought I was ordering it for will call, so I didn't mind paying a premium price for it. When I discovered the item was being shipped to me instead, I went online and dicovered I paid way too much for the identical item. The killer is, I live down the street from smarthome, and i had to use the item because after I discovered it had arrived at my door step, I didn't have time to order from a different web site.

The cable splitter works great. The signal strength from my cable company is really week, but the built-in amplifier takes care of that problem. Now I have excellent picture in all rooms of my house. This splitter is definitely worth every penny.

I tried an inexpensive distribution amp. and it totally degraded the picture on all my devices. When I installed this 1x8 2Ghz RF module the picture on all my devices is now perfect!

We were having a problem with our coaxial system. The picture on the TV was going in and out, and the computer was slow since it was being run through a cable modem. This gave our system the boost that it was desperately needing. The internet is much faster and the picture is perfectly clear. Thanks!

I also have problem with the plastic connectors that can not support the weight of the module. In additions, the AC power connector is loose and won't stay on. Unfortunately, I waited too long to install this module. I missed the return/exchange time limit. I will have to modify the connector myself. The module does work when the power is on.

Like others, I can attest that this product evens out the signal across the coax network in my home. I ordered two of these devices to go into a new home and activated all 16 jacks. According to my own equipment, that of a cable company, and that of the satellite installer, this product keeps the signal from getting too strong or too weak on all 16 ports despite splitting off for a cable modem. I'm still having issues getting the two way communication from the Dish Network satellite boxes to distribute from the one master box on one TV to the other TV controlled by that box, and that could be an issue between Dish Network's signals and this item. However, it works like a star for cable TV signals. The price was the retail price shown when I purchased this product, which is higher than I could have gotten it elsewhere by a large margin. Now it's on sale here for half that Sept 2009 as it should have been in the first place.

There was a night and day difference in picture quality after the unit was installed. The picture is very clear on all the TV's throughout the house. The instructions that came with the module were good to point out how to adjust the amplified signal but since everything looked so good out of the box, I didn't need to touch anything.
