Unlike most connector systems that require crimping tools — or worse yet, soldering tools — QuickLockâ„¢ flex pin connectors don't require any specialized tools at all! To install these connectors, simply strip the cable jacket to expose ½" of copper stranding, slip the QuickLock mounting post over the exposed copper, then turn the connector clockwise onto the threaded portion of the mounting post until secure. The connectors are plated with 24k gold, both on the exterior where the amplifier connects, and the interior where the speaker cable copper conductors connect.
And since most home theater receiver back panels are jammed with a dozen or more cables, there's often little room to clearly insert raw speaker wire into the terminal or under the binding posts. Plus, if you aren't careful, stray copper strands could short out the amplifier, potentially resulting in permanent damage to your system. But these connectors insert easily and neatly, keeping your system organized and minimizing the chances of a short. These Connectors are also available in banana configurations (85312), depending on the type of connectors your system uses.
