Essential Info

Shielded cable minimizes the antenna effect that occurs with cable of any significant length. This antenna effect will produce low-voltage interference that can affect sensitive devices and cause erratic operation. Use shielded cable for communication between devices, sensitive analog sensors (eg. temperature), or if the wire has to be run close to the 110V AC wire. If in doubt, use shielded. Ground wire acts as an extra conductor.
