Having security cameras isn't enough; you also need to capture any transgressions in a recording. This network recorder is designed to store images on a hard disk drive (sold separately) of up to 750GB. Since the video recordings are stored as digital files on the hard drive, you avoid the image degradation common with tape recorders. Connect up to 8 cameras to the BNC connectors, install its management software on a PC, and you're ready to record any security breach. You can use the included IR remote to control your camera's pan, tilt, and zoom features, tell your cameras to go to predetermined points, and sequence through the cameras in a preset sequence. There's also a motion detection mode to tell the recordings to begin only when a change in picture is detected. And you can monitor the video feed and change the settings over an Internet browser
