Watch live and recorded television, play DVDs and VHS tapes, listen to MP3 music, or view digital photos and home videos in any room of your home. The DigitalDeck entertainment network is a whole-home entertainment system that enables you to place all of your home entertainment devices on a single network. This allows you to play any source of video or audio in your home on any television or stereo receiver on your DigitalDeck network. The DigitalDeck network requires an Ethernet router and Ethernet cabling to any room that will be included on the network. Both the router and cabling are sold separately.

The DigitalDeck network is made up of three primary components that work together to make every room in your home an entertainment center: a single media server, a media adapter in each room on the DigitalDeck network, and a DigitalDeck remote control for each room on the network. Once your DigitalDeck network system has been installed and set up by an installation specialist, you can take advantage of its functionality.

Get your new entertainment network up and running, and you'll be able to:

Watch live TV in multiple rooms;
Record, pause, forward, or skip a live or recorded show;
Schedule a show to be recorded at a later date;
Watch live television in one room while watching a recorded show in another
View DVDs and videotapes playing in another room; and
Listen to MP3s and view digital photos and home videos that are stored on your PC.

The media server runs the DigitalDeck software to enable all of the DigitalDeck functionality over your entire DigitalDeck network, interfacing with the media adapters via Ethernet. The media server also stores up to 100 hours of digital media on its 200 GB hard drive.

Place a media adapter in any room where you want access to your entertainment network. You can connect your cable box, satellite connection, VCR or DVD player to any media adapter and be able to access the content from any room on the network. The media adapter sends the entertainment content from these components back to the media server. Each media adapter can also receive all of this content, and by relaying signals through the media server, each adapter can control any component connected to the network. The DigitalDeck remote control replaces the remotes for all devices on your DigitalDeck network.

The DigitalDeck network features an integrated DVR that gives you the ability to record, pause, rewind, forward and skip live and recorded video from any room on the DigitalDeck network. In addition to recording live shows, you can also schedule shows to be recorded and prioritize your recording schedule. A single cable or satellite receiver on your DigitalDeck network enables you to record one show in any given time slow; each additional receiver enables you to record an additional show in any given time slot.

Finding and watching your favorite shows is easy and intuitive on the DigitalDeck network. Your network is connected to a live Internet connection, which enables your media server to download the Electronic Program Guide software updates on a nightly basis. You can leisurely surf channels, search the guide for your favorite shows, find a show by name using the search, or use the DVR features to record, pause, rewind or forward any show at any time.

The digital music files and digital photo files stored on your PC can be also played through your DigitalDeck network by moving or copying them to the media server. As your personal entertainment media collection grows, you can add and manage your files on the media server. Use it to add and delete media files and to create playlists and slideshows.

If you're just getting started, choose from the 2-Room Video System, the 3-Room Video System, or the 4-Room Video System. If you decide to expand later, an additional eDeck with Remote Control can be purchased separately.
