- Wide Dynamic Range (WDR)
- High resolution of 650 TV lines
- Enhanced night vision from IR LEDs
- 16x digital zoom
It's very difficult to get a good image of a person in the middle of a room when there's light streaming in through windows. Usually, video cameras adjust their light levels to average the entire scene, and a subject with strong backlight is just a dark blob with no detail. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) helps solve this problem by reducing the amount of light overpowering the scene, and giving good detail of backlit subjects. This camera offers 650 TV lines of resolution for very clear images. There are 24 IR LEDs to provide video images even in total darkness, but again because of WDR, the camera can take pictures down to very low lux levels with the LEDs. The vari-focal lens allows you to set up the camera and zoom in to capture the details you want, and the camera itself is fully adjustable within its dome shell.

Connect to a Digital Video Recorder
Old video surveillance systems used to require a remote access system, a camera multiplexer; a time-lapse VCR, and an unlimited supply of videotapes for remote viewing and storing video from a multi-camera system. Now you can get the capabilities of all those products in one with a Digital Video Recorder (DVR). By connecting up to four cameras to a DVR, you will be able to record and review video footage of activity around your property. You can even remotely access your video footage using a Network Digital Video Recorder (NDVR).
Wide Dynamic Range
Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) enhances a camera's ability to display scenes with vastly differing degrees of light. A normal camera confronted with brightly lit parts of a scene combined with darker areas will display either good images of the bright parts, for instance the scenery visible through a window with the interior of a room shows an dark shapes with no detail. or will show the windows as washed-out white spots and show the interior details clearly. WDR enables the camera to display good details in both areas: clear details of the brightly-lit outside scene, and clear details of the people and furnishing inside the darker room.
Lux rating is the amount of minimum illumination that a camera can have and still pick up an image, 0 being the lowest, or no light. So the closer the lux rating is to 0, the better the camera will operate in no light or low light situations. The Indoor WDR Color IR Dome Camera can pick up images in 0 lux when its IR LEDs are on, and clear video down to 0.0017 with the LEDs off.
Resolution is the amount of horizontal TV lines that make up a picture, so the higher the number of the resolution, the better clarity your picture will have. Note that the monitor or recording device you use must have a resolution equal to or greater than the resolution of the camera, as it will do you no good to have a camera that can output in 540 lines of resolution but have a monitor or recording devices that only picks up images at 300 lines of resolution. The Indoor WDR Color IR Dome Camera has 650 lines of resolution, better than broadcast television.
This camera can be controlled via its On-Screen Display (OSD). You can enter the setup menu and make changes to the various parameters controlling the camera: digital zoom in/out, exposure, white balance, privacy mask, effects, noise reduction, motion detection and areas, communication, shutter speed, WDR, and more.
