Channel Vision DVR-43G 4 channel bought hidden version in SWC This is a great product. Easy to get working, and does all it says it does. After hooking it up to my cams, and my LAN, I am particularly happy with being able to see my cams and control it from a PC or a Mac, and view the security cams on my iPhone. My 1st gen iPhone can see the cams with a free app from iTunes, as long as it is on a wireless network. Apparently, a 3G iphone would be able to see the cams on the phone network too. The only complaints are to do with the software, which is likely v1.0 The Mac software worked on my intel duo portable with no problem, but not on my older intel Mac. Running the Mac in PC mode worked allowed me to use the PC versions of the software, which mostly worked. All the software is rather simple, but does the main things. I am hoping future upgrades will show some more sophistication. The hidden version came with a structured wiring cabinet and an IR repeaters system, which all worked well, and was straightforward to install. I can control the DVR in another room with no problem. The only problem I had was that the holders to fasten the DVR inside the cabinet could be a bit better design. There is not much room for big fingers to work the thumb screws that tighten up on the DVR to hold it in place. I don't think the SWC Structured wiring cabinet is that secure. Anyone with a screwdriver could eventually lever off the door, but it is neat to tidy it out of the way, and it does hide it from intruders who might not recognize that the security system is in the box.
