If you're looking for a way to monitor and communicate with your family through an intercom system, the DMC1 can serve your needs, all while providing a full sound system, too! The functional yet elegant DMC1 system consists of three major components: the master station, room stations/ patio stations (sold separately), and up to three door stations (sold separately). The master station controls the system's intercom and music features. From the master station, you can set the clock and music automatic on/off times, preset the radio stations (up to 8 each for AM and FM) and control the volume and equalization. In addition, you can determine the intercom functionality of each room and patio station, monitor other stations, and communicate with the door stations. Depending on connectivity, you can even control a single function of your security/home automation, such as releasing a door lock, setting off an alarm, or turning on lights.

Nine room stations can be installed in individual zones or 15 in shared zones, and one patio station can be installed. The room/patio stations provide intercom functions and system music control. A room/patio station can select from the music sources: AM/FM radio bands or an external CD player or stereo system. The door stations are exterior intercom speakers and doorbells installed at major entranceways into your home, allowing residents to communicate with visitors.
Additional features include hands-free door and room communication, configurable monitor override, and speaker remote scan and volume control. But you needn't fear Big Brother: The system's privacy feature will allow you to prevent anyone in the home from monitoring a particular room with just the push of a button. An internal CD player for this system is also available.

The DMC1 measures 16" W x 5 1/4" H and is designed to mount within a standard 2" x 4" stud cavity.
