Designed specifically for home theater use, the HiFi Works 6 1/2" In-Wall THX Select Surround Sound Speaker is THX Select certified and should be used as a side channel speaker in a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound THX home theater installation. The speaker has a 6 1/2" polypropylene woofer and dual voice coil aluminum tweeters. The two angled tweeters create a diffused sound field for creating realistic home theater surround effects. This high quality woofer and tweeter combination delivers resounding bass tones and crisp high tones. It can each handle up to 125 Watts of power with 80Hz to 20kHz +/-3dB of Frequency Response and feature an 8-ohm impedance, which is an easy load for most amplifiers or receivers. Additionally, the included speaker grilles and frames can be painted to seamlessly blend in with your décor. For the ultimate in 5.1 surround sound, purchase two of these speakers for the side channels and three THX Select LCR speakers for the front channels (for 7.1 surround sound add two more of the LCR speakers for the rear channels), each sold separately.

THX Select Certified
The 6 1/2" In-Wall THX Select LCR Speaker has been certified by THX with a "Select" rating. THX Select certified speakers feature Controlled Directivity, both vertically and horizontally, that delivers balanced on-axis and smooth on-to-off-axis transitions. The result is a full sound stage with precise imaging for all types of audio content. Select speakers are designed for a small Home Theater area about 2,000 cubic feet in size, with a 10-12 foot viewing distance from the screen.
Other Speakers Available
If using THX Certified speakers is overkill for your audio application, standard in-wall speakers are available in a 5 1/4" design that can handle up to 65 watts of power and in a 6 1/2" design that can handle up to 100 watts of power. Alternatively, a set of 5 1/4" in-ceiling speakers and 6 1/2" in-ceiling surround sound speakers are also available.
