Essential Info
Maximize the audio distribution of an amplifier or receiver by using the Audioplex Impedance Protected Speaker Connection Hub to equally divide the full power available from your amplifier or receiver to each of your speakers. The hub can handle up to 300 Watts of power and is designed to be inserted between the audio amplifier or receiver and up to 12 pairs of 4 Ohm speakers or 24 pairs of 8 Ohm speakers. Two Trifilar wound high efficiency auto-transformers with switch selectable taps ensure no significant power loss under any load condition. The product offers the ultimate in convenience, allowing maximum power transfer while maintaining a safe load of 4 Ohms or higher regardless of the number of speakers in use. The hub provides connections from the amplifier or receiver and to the speakers that are directly wired to the PC board which will minimize bad wiring connections. A unique high-pass filter is included to prevent very low frequency (subsonic) information transferring to the impedance matching system. The high pass filter reduces sub-audible audio overloading, which causes a transformer impedance drop. This leads to transformer core saturation and the resulting impedance drop transients caused by excessive low frequency power input. Rubber feet are included for free standing installations, rack ears are included for rack mounting, and the included cover protects the speaker connections and accidental switching of the impedance level.

With the impedance selector switch optimally set there will be a level drop, but full amplifier output will be available divided equally among the 12 speaker outputs. The unit is capable of transforming a 1/3 Ohm load to appear as a 4 Ohm load to the amplifier, which is equivalent to 12-4 Ohm or 24-8 Ohm speakers operating simultaneously.
