Product was easy to install. One thing I missed was that I thought you could also program a customized schedule - not just tweak the algorhythm hardcoded into the unit.

PROS: Really saved on my energy bill. while it lasted CONS: Only worked for ONE season. Button design is garbage. Why do they pop off so easily? The plastic clips on the sides of the buttons are too fragile and they got broken somehow. This caused them to become unseated from their position while putting the front cover on which results in the unit not recognizing a button push. Remember the game Operation? Remember how tedious it was to get the writer's cramp out? There you go. That's what I felt like I was doing when I was putting the front cover back on. SUMMARY: The build quality is terrible and the unit died after one season. EDIT: I have contacted TightWatt support and they told me the power supply went bad and they're shipping me a NEW timer! So at least they are a good company that backs the warranty!

I have cut down the use of my pool pump from 24 hours a day to 4 hours a day and its all done while I am away! Great product worth every penny, especially when the electric bill shows up in the mail.

The product is great, but the wiring instructions were not. I had to go to one of the home improvement stores, look at a timer that the Tightwatt replaces to figure out the wiring. The instructions are just for replaceing an existing timer. I really like the timer though.

This unit was very easy to install. It came with video instructions to walk you through the installation procedure, but I didn't bother. The instruction booklet was easy to follow. It was just a matter of disconnecting four wires, the old time pops out, the Tightwatt pops in and you reconnect the four wires--it couldn't be much easier. It's easy to program the timer once you pick up on one little bit of information that is casually mentioned, "take the unit out of demo mode". If you don't do this, you can't set the timer and you could drive youself crazy trying to get it to work. That one tidbit should be put in bold and reemphasized so a gadget novice doesn't become frustrated. I've just installed it and I know that it will make my system more efficient. I expect to see a reduction in my electric bill and feel confident that the Tightwatt is going live up to its promise.
